June 2015

Kia ora friends and whanau,
We are excited to share our first Okareka Express newsletter, filled with an abundance of news and important dates to keep in your diaries!

WHANAU (FAMILY)
Okareka would like to introduce you to our wonderful new trust board; Raymond Hawthorne, Bruce Hopkins, Lesley Slade, Taane Mete and Taiaroa Royal. Okareka is now an official charitable trust after 3 years of work. Donations received are tax deductible, making philanthropic giving a win-win for us all.

MATATAKI (CHALLENGE)
We are taking K’rd Strip – A Place to Stand to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, specially selected by the Assembly Roxy Theatre – check out Assembly’s festival line-up here.

Needing to fundraise to make this possible we have secured the services of the fabulous Helen Langfordas our Fundraising Coordinator. Most of you will have heard from her during the successful PledgeMecampaign to help fund the refreshing of K’rd Strip in readiness to meet the international market.
